I wrote this one quite a while ago. I think it's pretty weak, but in the words of Holly, "Whatevs man, whatevs." =]
Walking down the alley, the sun was blocked by a looming multi-story apartment building. It was run-down and grey, age crumbling the walls. Just ahead, a piece of paper danced in the wind. I picked it up. Since I had all the time in the world on this lazy Saturday, I stopped and unfolded it. Leaning with my back against a wall, I inquired upon a page of a diary. The flowing writing covered the whole front and half the back.
Dear Diary, it said,
My dream of becoming a successful actress has come to an abrupt end. No matter how hard I work, it is never enough. Today, I tried out for the role of Liza in My Fair Lady. The director said that it just wouldn't work. He asked how a single mother with two jobs and no experience could have the ability to pursue an acting career. He didn't see how much that hurt me. He continued to tell me that if I really wanted to be an actress, I would have to devote myself entirely to acting. But I can't give up those jobs, I need them to pay the rent and feed Paul. I have no other choice but to give up on my dream. Paul needs a mother, and I can't
And that was all. I wondered what had happened to pull this woman away from her diary. A warm breeze twirled around my nose.
